Yep. Unfortunately, this is the end of the Challenge.
I’d love to continue it, but things in my life have changed and it’s no longer worth the time and effort to create a new 500+ words every day. It takes a lot of energy and determination (for me at least) to come up with a new story idea every day and write it. I’ve enjoyed doing it, but as I said things have changed for me, making it more difficult than ever to continue the challenge.
I’m not doing this lightly, either. I’ve been thinking about it for a few weeks now. I hate giving up any challenge, much less one I’ve set myself (not to mention giving it up publicly…), but I also need to think about my future and where I want my life to go.
So, for now, I’m putting my writing on the back-burner.
It won’t be forever. And I’m more than sure I will still keep writing every now and then – I can’t help it, I get the itch! However, I’m starting up a new business and looking at new opportunities that aren’t directly related to my writing career. The new business is going to take up a lot of my time and energy as any new business will and I want to give it the best chance at success, which obviously means putting other pursuits aside for now.
I hope you’ve enjoyed the 500 words every day! I’m still very impressed with myself that I managed to write 500 words every day for over a third of a year! I haven’t had the determination to do that before, so at least I have proved to myself that if I put my mind to it, I can do it! My new business will be stronger for having discovered that in myself.
Thanks for reading! Perhaps one day the 500 words will reappear…
🙂
